Location: Dharwad, Vijayapura (Bijapur) Karnataka

Monthly Stipend: INR 10000/- with INR 1000/- travel allowance

Six Months internship as a teacher in a Rural Government school around Dharwad / Vijayapura (Bijapur)


On successful completion, we provide a full-time One + One year fellowship and Scholarship support to do B.Ed during the second year of fellowship.

Eligibility

  • Graduate / Post Graduates (Freshers waiting for final year results are also eligible)
  • Age less than 26 years

Requirements

  • Passion for teaching
  • Ready to work with rural schoolchildren
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Kannada and English language proficiency
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to create learning materials
  • Ability to set goals and track progress

About the role

  • Designing goals and vision for your classroom
  • Planning and facilitating lessons on Science, Mathematics, and English to children of grades 5th  6th and 7th from under-resourced schools in Dharwad, Karnataka.
  • Facilitate projects and extra-curricular activities for children 
  • Collecting data on a regular basis to measure student learning outcomes
  • Building relationships with stakeholders such as parents community school teacher and headmasters

  3. Who can apply?

a)      Young graduates (between 21 to 26 years old) who are willing to commit to full-time as intern for rural school children

  1. I have given my final year exams and the results have not yet come, still can I apply?
    1. Yes, You can apply if you have attended final semester exams
  2. I completed my higher education/ PG, can I apply?
    1. Sure, If you are passionate to teach and want to be a change leader and role model in the community
  3. Where will I be placed if I get selected?
    1. Dharwad & Vijayapura, Karnataka and teaching will be in and around Dharwad & Vijayapura  village schools.
  4. Can other district candidates apply?
    1. Yes, candidates from all over Karnataka who are fluent in Kannada and English can apply.
  5. Will I be paid during the Yuva Internship?
    1. Yes, you will get Rs.10000 as monthly stipend and Rs.1000 travel expenses
  6. Will I be trained for Yuva Internship-Teacher role?
    1. You will undergo one week training in pedagogy, systemic teaching skills and classroom management. An exposure to other potential educators/education entrepreneurs in the ecosystem will also be offered.
    2. Continuous on-Job training will be provided to enable you to become an excellent teacher
  7. What is the duration of Yuva Internship?
    1. It is six months full-time commitment
    2. From November 2024 - April 2025.
  8. Can I get any certificate for Yuva Internship?
    1. You will get experience letter and appreciation certificate from Vidya Poshak
  9. Is work experience mandatory?
    1. No, any volunteer experience or teaching experience is preferable (Tution class experience also will count)
  1. What opportunity will be available to me after completion of Yuva Internship?
    1. The role starts as an Intern Teacher but has a possibility of converting into an excellent Fellow teacher in Vidya Poshak Yuva Fellowship. You can become a Teacher, Teacher trainer, Curriculum designer, Program manager and many other roles in the education sector.
  2. What is the Deadline for submitting the application?
    1. The Final Deadline for accepting applications is September 15th, 2024. The outcome will be communicated to you within 10 working days.
  3. Schools have already started, if I got selected how can I teach children in the middle of the year?
    1. Selection process will be done till September end. 15 days full time training will be given to you.  After that we will place you to the school as you will train students on competitive exams.
  4. What is the selection process?
    1. Once we shortlist the application we will inform you in detail.
    2. Next round will be Writing skill & Teaching Skill
    3. Final round of interviews will be held in Dharwad
  5. What are all the skills needed for Yuva Internship?
    1. Communication skill, Presentation skill, Basic computer skills, research and design skills
  6. What and whom will I be teaching?
    1. You will be teaching Mental ability, Maths & English to Rural kannada medium lower primary school students
  7. What are all the documents needed to submit along with the application?
    1. You have to upload updated CV along with the application
