A Heartfelt Experience: Maatru–Pitru Paada Pooje at Our School Annual Day

Our school’s Annual Day this year became even more meaningful with a beautiful and unique ceremony called “Maatru–Pitru Paada Pooje” (ಮಾತೃ–ಪಿತೃ ಪಾದಪೂಜೆ🙏), organized by the Janani Foundation. It was not just a program, but a powerful moment that reminded every student about the value of parents and the gratitude we owe them.

The event began with the auspicious Saraswati Pooja, where we prayed to Goddess Saraswati for knowledge, wisdom, and guidance in our studies and lives. After the pooja, our parents were invited to join the ceremony. Seeing them seated in front of us created a very emotional and respectful atmosphere in the school hall.

Soon after, a respected Swamiji arrived to guide us through the process of the Paada Pooje. He explained the significance of honoring our parents and shared meaningful mantras and instructions for performing the ritual properly. According to our tradition, parents are considered the first gurus in our lives, and this ceremony is a way of expressing our gratitude for their endless love, sacrifices, and support.

Following Swamiji’s guidance, we students performed the Paada Pooje with full devotion and respect🙏. We washed our parents’ feet, applied turmeric and kumkum, offered flowers, and bowed down to seek their blessings. Many students and parents were deeply moved during the ritual, and the hall was filled with a sense of love, humility, and gratitude.

For many of us, this was a completely new and unforgettable experience.💫 It taught us an important life lesson — to respect, love, and be thankful to our parents who work tirelessly for our happiness and future. The ceremony created a very emotional moment not only for the students but also for the parents and teachers who witnessed it.The entire event went wonderfully and left a lasting impact on everyone present. Programs like these help students understand the true values of our culture and strengthen the bond between parents and children.

We are very thankful to the Janani Foundation, our school management, teachers, and the respected Swamiji for organizing such a meaningful and inspiring activity. It truly made our Annual Day celebration special and memorable💟.
