A Cultural Day at Summer Camp – Celebrating Janapada Sahitya ( GHPS Yettinagudda )

Today’s summer camp was a beautiful blend of culture, learning, and joyful participation. I reached the school at 8:00 AM and began the day by guiding the students to clean the classroom. This small activity helped them understand the importance of responsibility and maintaining a neat environment. After preparing the board and organising the classroom, we all gathered for the morning prayer, which set a peaceful and focused tone for the day.

Around 30+ students attended the camp today, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every activity. The theme of the day was Janapada Sahitya (folk literature), which made the sessions unique and culturally rich. We started with an action song session where students actively participated, enjoying the rhythm and expressions.

To make the day more lively, we conducted traditional games like Haga Jaggata and Sarsala. The students were full of excitement and laughter while playing, and it was wonderful to see them connect with these traditional forms of play.

After the lunch break, the camp continued with a special and memorable session. We were honoured to have special guests, including village grandmothers and Anganwadi teachers. Their presence added great value to the day. They participated in the Janapada Sangeetha activity and sang beautiful folk songs filled with meaning and tradition. The students listened with curiosity and respect, enjoying the richness of local culture.

Later, I explained about Dollu Kunitha, a traditional folk dance. The session was interactive and engaging, helping students understand the significance of this cultural art form.

Overall, today’s camp was not just about activities but about experiencing and appreciating our cultural heritage. The students participated actively, learned with interest, and enjoyed every moment. It was truly a meaningful and memorable day at the summer camp.
