A Day of Calm Minds and Smart Thinking – Summer Camp Highlights ( GHPS Yettinagudda)

Today’s summer camp began a little differently. I reached the school at 7:30 AM, and due to the change in camp timing, the student strength was initially low as some students had gone to attend their 10th class activities. However, as the morning progressed, more students gradually joined, bringing back the usual energy to the camp.

I started the session by informing the students about the updated camp schedule so that everyone was clear and comfortable with the changes. To create a calm and focused environment, we began with a 5-minute meditation session. The students sat quietly, relaxed their minds, and prepared themselves for the day ahead.

Following this, we conducted yogasana exercises, including Tadasana and other simple poses. The students actively participated and showed great interest in maintaining balance and posture. It was encouraging to see them understand the importance of physical fitness and mental well-being.

Later, we had an engaging discussion on the game of chess. I explained the role of the king and how each move in the game requires careful thinking and planning. The students listened attentively and began to understand how chess can improve concentration and decision-making skills.

We also took some time to talk about cleanliness and safety awareness. The students shared their thoughts and understood the importance of maintaining a clean environment and staying safe in their daily lives.

During the day, a few students had to attend a robotics class at another centre. I personally accompanied them and ensured they reached safely, making sure they were comfortable and secure.

Overall, today’s camp was calm, thoughtful, and meaningful. Even with a slow start, the day turned into a valuable learning experience, focusing on both physical and mental development. The students participated well and made the most of every activity.
