🌈 Dreaming Beyond Today: A Creative Journey from Present to Future

The camp day began with a calm and positive start as we gathered together for a peaceful prayer. The soothing rhythm of the prayer created a focused and welcoming atmosphere, preparing everyone for an engaging day ahead.

Once we settled in, I introduced the theme for the day. The idea was simple yet inspiring: to reflect on the present and imagine a better future. The children quickly grasped the concept, and you could see curiosity spark in their eyes. To build on that enthusiasm, we moved into a fun energizer activity. Laughter filled the space as they participated wholeheartedly, shaking off any hesitation and boosting their energy levels.

With minds awakened and spirits high, it was time to channel that energy into creativity.

I invited the children to draw two versions of their school—one as it exists today, and another as they dream it could be in the future. This activity encouraged them to observe, reflect, and imagine. Some carefully sketched their current classrooms, playgrounds, and surroundings, while others boldly designed modern buildings, colorful spaces, and exciting facilities they wished to have.

We then extended this idea to something even closer to their hearts—their village. The children were asked to draw their village as it is now and how they envision it in the future. This opened up a beautiful space for expression. Some drew familiar scenes—homes, roads, trees, and fields—while others imagined cleaner streets, better houses, parks, and vibrant community spaces.

What stood out most was how each child interpreted the activity in their own unique way. Their drawings reflected not only their surroundings but also their hopes, creativity, and understanding of the world. Some were detailed and thoughtful, others imaginative and bold—but each one told a story.

This simple exercise became more than just drawing. It turned into a meaningful exploration of awareness and aspiration. The children weren’t just creating pictures—they were expressing their ideas about growth, change, and possibility.

By the end of the session, the room was filled with colorful visions of the present and the future. It was inspiring to see how young minds can dream so freely and thoughtfully when given the space to do so.

Moments like these remind us that every child carries a vision within them—sometimes all they need is an opportunity to bring it to life. 🌈
