Dreaming of a Better Future

Today was special as we celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti with great respect and enthusiasm. Our teachers joined us for the celebration, and we began with a pooja followed by a small photo session. Students were also introduced to the life and contributions of B. R. Ambedkar, helping them understand his role in shaping modern India and inspiring equality and education.

After the celebration, we continued with our camp activities. The theme for Day 4 was “Roots in soil, leaves in light; thoughts in dreams.” To bring this idea to life, I drew a large tree on chart paper. Students then created paper leaves, wrote their dreams for a future village on them, and pasted them onto the tree. The activity turned into a beautiful “dream tree,” filled with creative and thoughtful ideas from the students, making the session both meaningful and visually appealing.

Following a short tiffin break, we conducted a fun and engaging activity that brought energy and excitement to the group. Students actively participated and enjoyed every moment

The highlight of the day was a hands-on model-making session where students designed their vision of a future village and school using cardboard and other materials. Their creativity, teamwork, and innovative thinking were clearly visible in their models.

During this session, a member of the SDMC visited and appreciated the students’ efforts, encouraging them with kind and motivating words. The students confidently presented and explained their models, which boosted their confidence and communication skills.

Overall, today’s experience was inspiring and fulfilling. It was wonderful to see students express their dreams, creativity, and ideas for a better future while also learning important values and history.
