🌾 Echoes of the Village: A Day of Halli Aata, Halli Sambrama 🌿

Day three of the summer camp began on a refreshing and positive note. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as we started the day with a soulful prayer song, setting a calm and focused tone for the activities ahead.

Introducing the Theme

Today’s theme, “Halli Aata, Halli Sambrama” (Village Games and Celebrations), brought a wave of curiosity and excitement among the children. I began by introducing the concept and significance of village life, focusing on its rich traditions and cultural roots.

🏡 Exploring Village History

To make the session more interactive, I encouraged the children to share stories and knowledge about their own villages. It was heartwarming to see them actively participate, საუბing about their heritage, traditions, and experiences. Each child had a unique perspective, which made the discussion lively and meaningful.

🎭 Traditional Entertainment and Folk Arts

We then moved on to explore various traditional forms of entertainment commonly seen in villages. I explained activities such as:

  • Kolata (stick dance)
  • Dollu Kunitha (drum dance)
  • Sobana Pada (folk songs sung during special occasions)

The children were eager to contribute—some shared what they knew, while others beautifully sang folk songs and Sobana Pada, filling the space with cultural vibrance.

🎲 Fun with Village Games

No village celebration is complete without games! The children enthusiastically participated in traditional games like:

  • Hagga Jaggaata (tug of war)

  • Aani Kallu (a traditional local game)

Laughter, teamwork, and joy defined this part of the day as everyone actively engaged and enjoyed themselves.

The third day of the camp was a beautiful blend of learning and fun. It not only helped the children connect with their cultural roots but also created a platform for sharing, expression, and joyful participation.

As the day came to an end, the smiles on their faces reflected the success of the theme—bringing the spirit of village life alive in the most delightful way
