Our Classroom CR Election

Leadership is not something that students learn only from textbooks. It is something they learn by getting opportunities to take responsibility, make decisions, and work with others. With this thought, we decided to select a Class Representative (CR) every month so that every student gets an opportunity to experience leadership.

For the month of August, we decided to make the CR selection more interesting by conducting it in the form of an election. Instead of simply selecting one student, we wanted students to experience how an election works and understand the importance of choosing a representative. Students were given the opportunity to participate, express their interest, and take part in the selection process.

The students showed very good involvement throughout the activity. They were excited to see the process happen in their own classroom. Some students came forward confidently, while others participated by listening, supporting their classmates, and making their choice. The classroom atmosphere was filled with curiosity and excitement as the students experienced something different from their regular lessons.

For me, the activity was more than just selecting a CR. It gave students an opportunity to practice leadership, responsibility, decision-making, participation, and respect for others' choices. It also helped students understand that leadership is not only about having a position; it is about being responsible, helping classmates, and setting a good example.

I was happy to see the level of student involvement during the election. The activity went smoothly, and students enjoyed being part of the process. It also reminded me that when we give students real opportunities to participate, they become more confident and responsible.
