We log in, welcome our students, settle into our virtual classrooms, and ask everyone to pose for a quick photograph to mark their attendance. At first glance, it may seem like nothing more than a simple administrative task another box to tick, another record to maintain, another ordinary part of the school day.

When I look at those daily attendance photographs, I no longer see them as just records of who was present.
