Summer Camp
We conducted the summer camp in our schools to engage our students in the vacation time with the learnings and co-curricular activities. Our summer camp started from 12th April 2023 and ended on 19th April 2023. Camp was planned for 8 days with 4 different themes. All four themes were planned accordingly to give the learners and to spread awareness about these themes.
#Theme – Water
Day – 1 : WATER IS LIFE- TREAT IT RIGHT

Under the “Water” theme we started our first day and day begins with the song which explains about the importance of Guru in everyone’s life. After the song there is a small discussion about the water resources and its importance. Students know the importance of water and its resources so they started to share with the team. Later I gave them one situation that “If there is no water in the village for a week, then what will be the situation in the village?” Students started thinking critically and gave different kinds of answers for the questions and by this activity students got to know about the importance of water.
Students had to draw pictures related to the water resources. Students always like such activities so my students actively started to draw the pictures and they did it very nicely. I saw the 100% involvement of each student in the drawing activity.
After the drawing activity my students played the water passing game and this game also explains the importance of water. Students completely enjoyed the whole day and learned about the importance of water.
Day – 2 : PURE WATER RUNS LIFE

Our second day started with a discussion on water pollution. All our students participated in the discussion. Firstly they discussed which are the different ways in which our water resources are getting polluted and then started discussing the causes for the pollution. Students even discussed the cleanliness of the water bodies of the village. Students also shared that the reason behind all these kinds of pollution is human beings who are doing all these things for his cause.
Later students prepared some crafts which showed the importance of water and posters which spread awareness about the water bodies and its importance.
We ended our whole day with the game in which all students participated and enjoyed the game of passing the ball over the water.
#Theme – Culture
Day – 3 : LETS CELEBRATE OUR CULTURE

We worked on the new theme and students were very eager to know about the different cultures that we can see in our state. Students listened to everything carefully and then started to ask different questions on the different cultures and on their beliefs. Their all questions are like why? How? What?
Then students were allowed to draw a Rangoli and rangoli is also a part of our culture. While students were doing Rangoli I explained to them about the history of Culture.
Day – 4 : Lets create our own stories.

Day begins with the storytelling and students build their own stories and they just explain it in a convincing manner. I just explained to them that the stories are the part of our life which will be with us from birth till death. After the completion of the stories we started our discussion on the topic “Ayurveda”.
Knowing Ayurveda things is an adventure because we have such amazing bundles of medications in our Ayurveda. Our Ayurveda should be our pride because it is a part of our culture and also it is very important to have balanced health conditions. The process of knowing it with the students is nice and our students have a good knowledge about it because they are from the rural area where even today our ancestors use Ayurveda to cure many of the health issues. Students shared the importance of many different materials such as turmeric, garlic, and also about some of the medicinal creepers.
#Theme – Farmer
Day – 5 : Eat well and live well

Our farmers are the backbone of our nation and we should be respectful with the farmers and our 5th day begins with the discussion of the importance of having salads. I explained to them about the high rich protein present in the seeds which we can have regularly and students had brought the seeds to the session as said in the last session and after understanding the importance of seeds we eat the seeds to have better health conditions.
Later students drew the tree diagram in the A4 sheet but later they designed the whole tree with the different materials such as seed shell, stones, dry leaves, etc. This shows the creativity of our students.
Day – 6 : Lets grow our own crops

We started our day with a discussion about the different crops that we grow in our country. Students started their explanation of different crops in their locality with soil conditions and presence of water in the land. Students know better in which place they can grow the different crops. I explained to them about the different states growing different food crops on the basis of the humidity of the place.
Then we drew one India map on the card sheet and started pasting the different crops on the basis of the place in which they grow which crops. Students think twice and discuss with their teammates before pasting the seeds on the map.
#Theme – Art
Day – 7 : Introduction to Indian Art

I explained to them about the Indian art forms and also gave them a clear idea of the Indian art form. Students are getting to know about the rich Indian art culture. Students learned and started discussion on the art works of Indian artists from the past. Students also explained about the temples and sculptures of the nearest places.
After knowing about the Indian art students started doing Best out of waste and already my students participated in this competition 6 months ago and now they participated and did different and unique things using the waste papers and card sheets. And they also prepared some hats using the newspaper.
Day – 8 : Art and craft

Students were introduced to the different forms of art from India and students asked different kinds of questions to understand the importance of the arts. Students have the interest to learn about the art. Students then asked to make the sand art and they did it in a unique way and they did it very nicely. And I am very happy with the students’ performance because one of my small students from 3rd standard drew the tractor and made it sand art which is very unique and very attractive in the classroom.
We finally took all the students' autographs at the end of the summer camp which is a very unique idea of our summer camp. Students felt very happy with the last activity and they felt it was like a Holi festival and expressed love towards me.
