Location: Dharwad, Karnataka

Monthly Stipend: INR 10000/- with INR 1000/- travel allowance

Six Months internship as a teacher in a Rural Government school around Dharwad

On successful completion, we provide a full-time two-year fellowship along with Scholarship support to do B.Ed during the fellowship.

Eligibility

  • Graduate (Freshers are also eligible)
  • Age less than 26 years
  • Prior volunteering experience in any field would be preferable

Requirements

  • Passion for teaching
  • Ready to work with rural schoolchildren
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Kannada and English language proficiency
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to create learning materials
  • Ability to set goals and track progress

About the role

  • Designing goals and vision for your classroom
  • Planning and facilitating lessons on Science, Mathematics, and English to children of grades 5th  6th and 7th from under-resourced schools in Dharwad, Karnataka.
  • Facilitate projects and extra-curricular activities for children 
  • Collecting data on a regular basis to measure student learning outcomes
  • Building relationships with stakeholders such as parents community school teacher and headmasters

Paper Boat – An Activity Based on Poetry The students of 5th standard participated in a creative classroom activity based on the poem “The Paper Boat” written by Rabindranath Tagore. To understand the poem better, students made paper boats using their own unique ideas. On this day, Mr. Vijay visited the class and observed the session. He appreciated the students’ creativity and the innovative paper boats they had made. The poem was explained in Kannada, which helped the students clearly understand its meaning.                 The Positive teacher and Student Relationship Session conducted by Navyashri Madam. Madam Started the Session with activity that was interesting and funny so all are enjoyed the activity. Then they thought about Qualities of Positive teacher and how to treat a students positively and All we shared our ideas of Positive teacher and They gave feedback . They thought about How to maintain Positive  Relationship with Students and All we shared our Strategies and Some of new they thought. After that we ask our questions and get answers from them. Totally Session went well and they thought very interestingly and this very informative session for us.

                                                              I-n-t-e-r-a-c-t-i-o-n🗣️                                Today Our mentor Manjunath VT sir visited my class with interns and he did an common interaction with all students of my 6th class where all students felt happy by seeing the sir and they are waiting for Manjunath sir for his presence . Interns also enjoyed the interaction of Manjunath sir and he gave star to the students who told correct answer to all the questions that he asked . they enjoyed the learnings that they gave. It was very nice experience with the students and the interns.
