Monthly Stipend: INR 10000/- with INR 1000/- travel allowance

Six Months internship as a teacher in a Rural Government school around Dharwad

On successful completion, we provide a full-time two-year fellowship along with Scholarship support to do B.Ed during the fellowship.

Eligibility

Graduate (Freshers are also eligible)
Age less than 26 years
Prior volunteering experience in any field would be preferable

Requirements

Passion for teaching
Ready to work with rural schoolchildren
Communication and presentation skills
Kannada and English language proficiency
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to create learning materials
Ability to set goals and track progress

About the role

Designing goals and vision for your classroom
Planning and facilitating lessons on Science, Mathematics, and English to children of grades 5th 6th and 7th from under-resourced schools in Dharwad, Karnataka.
Facilitate projects and extra-curricular activities for children
Collecting data on a regular basis to measure student learning outcomes
Building relationships with stakeholders such as parents community school teacher and headmasters

Paper Boat – An Activity Based on Poetry The students of 5th standard participated in a creative classroom activity based on the poem “The Paper Boat” written by Rabindranath Tagore. To understand the poem better, students made paper boats using their own unique ideas. On this day, Mr. Vijay visited the class and observed the session. He appreciated the students’ creativity and the innovative paper boats they had made. The poem was explained in Kannada, which helped the students clearly understand its meaning.
