A Fun Way to Teach Poetry......

Happy learning 😍

During our English session, I brought an elephant poem to life by teaching it with fun, engaging actions. Each line was paired with a gesture to help internalize the descriptive features and make learning interactive:

  • “The elephant goes like this and that” – We swayed from side to side.

  • “He’s terribly big” – We spread our arms wide.

  • “And he’s terribly fat” – We clasped our hands out in front.

  • “He has no fingers…” – We made fists.

  • “…and he has no toes.” – We touched our toes.

  • “But goodness gracious—What a nose!” – We stretched our arms up high

Totally my students enjoyed it and learned it.
