"Learning Democracy: Counting Votes and Building Confidence"

School Parliament Election 💥

In our school we conducted a school parliament election so first we began the session by introducing the concept of voting—why elections matter and how the process works. Afterwards, we prepared everything and then initiated the election procedure, going through each grade level one by one. It was truly gratifying to witness my students’ curiosity and confidence throughout the exercise.

Following lunch, we counted the votes, a process that stretched until five o’clock. I had the responsibility of counting the votes from Class 5B and ensured everything was conducted properly. I also took the opportunity to teach the students how to mark their ballots correctly.

Finally, we announced the results, revealing who had received the most votes in this mini-election those students felt very very happy and they celebrated.
