Getting to know plants🌳🌳

In this week I taught the chapter Getting to know plants for 6th class. In that students recalled the parts of the plants and differentiated the plants as herbs, shrubs and trees. Also they learned about the creepers and climbers. On the next day they learned about the functions of stem and leaf. They got to know that stem passes the water and minerals to all the parts of the plant by doing the experiment. Later they about the leaf venation. After that I showed some pictures of the leaves, students identified the type of venation in that leaf. They were very curious about the topic and observing the plants. On the next day they got to know about tap roots and fibrous roots. Also they identified the type of root by seeing the venation of leaves. Later they understand about flower and its parts by the dissection of Hibiscus flower. Later they observed the ovary. Also they identified the parts of the flowers. All students enjoyed the learning.....

Paper Boat – An Activity Based on Poetry The students of 5th standard participated in a creative classroom activity based on the poem “The Paper Boat” written by Rabindranath Tagore. To understand the poem better, students made paper boats using their own unique ideas. On this day, Mr. Vijay visited the class and observed the session. He appreciated the students’ creativity and the innovative paper boats they had made. The poem was explained in Kannada, which helped the students clearly understand its meaning.
